Supplier Diversity Program

The JPS Health Network Supplier Diversity Program is a demonstration of our commitment to make supplier diversity part of our culture and the way we do business. We recognize the advantages supplier diversity brings to our organization. JPS realizes the importance of having suppliers that reflect our diverse workforce and our diverse patient base.

Our Supplier Diversity Program will:

  • Proactively seek to procure products and services from minority/women/veteran/business enterprises
  • Increase our overall supplier base with whom we do business

Our program will assist Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) and Minority, Women, Veteran Business Enterprises (MWVBEs) with bid and contract opportunities through a combination of:

  • Utilization - integrating strategies to include competitive sourcing opportunities
  • Training and education – offering training and support for minority, women and veteran-owned businesses on how to do business with JPS
  • Tracking - monitoring and reporting our progress towards achieving our supplier diversity targets with emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Certification - verifying that businesses meet the criteria of ownership to qualify as a minority/women/veteran-owned business enterprises
  • Outreach - seeking diverse suppliers through active involvement with minority development organizations and participation in various trade show events


Statement of Purpose

JPS is a tax-supported organization and therefore is pleased to support local HUB and MWVBE businesses. We have goals for HUB and MWVBE participation on contracts and hold ourselves accountable for supporting community business owners whenever possible. We appreciate feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our processes in this area.

Our Policy

The Tarrant County Hospital District (“District”) will strive to ensure that all businesses, regardless of size, economic, social or ethnic status have an equal opportunity in the District’s procurement processes. The District is committed to promote full and equal business opportunity for all businesses to supply the goods and services needed to support the mission and operations of the District, and seeks to encourage the use of HUBs and MWVBEs through the use of race, ethnic and gender neutral means. The District acknowledges the good faith efforts of businesses that recognize and practice similar business standards.


Our Goals 

  • Assess the need and objectives of departments regarding their supplier requirements and identify appropriate HUB and MWVBE suppliers.
  • Increase participation and bring awareness by creating and implementing programs, tools and events that market the value of supplier diversity.
